“A large green area with a strong innovative and zero-impact accent will rise on the roof of a new concept mall in Turin. And it will welcome visitors, associations involved in social work and schools for educational projects, laboratories, educational, educational and sensory rehabilitation courses ", the organizers explain. ‘Sky Farm’ is the title of the fifth edition of the creative design competition promoted by Myplant & Garden in collaboration with the Minoprio Foundation and SATAC SIINQ.
The theme of the competition (which will close on 9 February 2020), coordinated by the architect Umberto Andolfato (AIAPP), is the realization of a garden-vegetable garden on a portion of the newly designed Caselle Open Mall (COM) destination center coverage, now under development, located in Caselle Torinese (TO) near the airport International Conference in Turin Sandro Pertini.
The aim of the competition is the creation of a large green hanging area (project area dimensions: 3,900 square meters) dedicated to the learning and dissemination of new techniques and technologies for the cultivation of flowering and horticultural plants, both outdoors and in the greenhouse.
The green areas will have to include educational and multisensory paths, contemplating the presence of both traditional and automated cultivated vegetable gardens, as well as transparent structures for hydroponic, aeroponic and aquaponic crops.
The green area, accessible by a panoramic lift, will welcome visitors to the new mall, as well as associations engaged in social work, institutions and schools for educational projects, environmental education and sensory rehabilitation. To this end, the construction of a covered area for courses, educational and laboratory activities of about 100 square meters is planned for the development of educational projects.
On 26 February 2020, the first day of opening of Myplant & Garden, the top three winners will be announced. The winner of the competition will receive a prize of 10,000.00 euros, the second and third place winners will receive a reimbursement of 2,500.00 euros each.
