The 2020 edition of Eima International, the great international exhibition of agricultural mechanics scheduled in Bologna from 11 to 15 November, was presented in Verona, in the frame of Fieragricola. 1,600 companies have already formalized the request for participation. Many new features are planned this year starting from the logistical and organizational ones. In mid-September in Bologna an event specifically dedicated to the "Technical News" competition.
Eima International will be at the starting line on Wednesday 11 November in Bologna, with the credentials for a new great success. Today, ten months after the event, already 1,600 companies (600 of which are foreign) have formalized the request for participation. According to FederUnacoma, the association that represents the manufacturers of agricultural machinery and that organizes the great international exhibition of agricultural mechanics, it could be equaled and exceeded the historical maximum of the review, reached in 2018 with 1,950 exhibiting companies. According to the organizers' forecasts, the exhibitors who participated in the 2018 edition should fully confirm their presence given the high loyalty rate at the event. To these are added about one hundred "new entry" companies that have already formalized the request for participation. To date - explained this afternoon, during a press conference in Fieragricola, the general manager of FederUnacoma Simona Rapastella - 90% of the exhibition areas are already virtually occupied with complete product coverage. The presence of companies and models is particularly significant in sectors IV (tillage and soil preparation), II (remediation and forestation) and in Eima Idrotech (irrigation systems) and Eima Components salons.
Many new features are planned, starting from the logistical and organizational ones. To the two new pavilions - 29 and 30 inaugurated in 2018 - a third will be added, 37, which covers 16,000 gross square meters and which has the highest architectural and functional standards. Another important novelty concerns the parking lots which, eliminated from the internal areas of the fairgrounds, will be upgraded outside. The space thus made available will allow the setting up of a demonstration area dedicated to stains for the management of agricultural and forest biomass, machines for territorial arrangements and prevention of geological risk, but above all to the show-show of the finalist tractors of the Tractor of the year. The thematic area of Eima Digital becomes a real Exhibition on agriculture 4.0 technologies and also provides a space for the numerous Start-ups of the sector, thus joining the EIMA Green and EIMA Energy Salons, and the aforementioned Eima Idrotech and Eima Components. The Eima MiA space, dedicated to multifunctionality, no longer presents itself as a single block but divided into three distinct initiatives: the first dedicated to territorial arrangements and the fight against hydrogeological instability and environmental risk, the second to set-ups and maintenance green areas, the third at conferences on multifunctional issues.
But the real strong point of the 2020 edition of Eima International - recalled Simona Rapastella - is once again innovation. And it is precisely to enhance the new technologies developed by the agricultural mechanics industries that the "Technical News" competition foresees, about two months before the exhibition, a specifically dedicated event. The appointment is in fact in mid-September in Bologna with an anticipation of the award-winning technologies, which will then be put on display at Eima, and will allow the manufacturers to illustrate in detail the technical contents of their innovations.
Still on the subject of competitions, Eima International sees the debut of a new initiative this year with the "contest" relating to the exhibition stands. «A commission of experts - explained Simona Rapastella - will reward the best performing stands from an aesthetic and functionality point of view, underlining the growing propensity of the manufacturers to enhance the mechanical products in their design and to promote the corporate brand through a coordinated image increasingly effective and attractive ».
