For the fifth consecutive year, AICG (the Italian gardening centers association) supports Airc in the research against cancer, proposing the "Margherita per Airc" initiative, from 6 March to 26 April.
In this period, in fact, you can buy the plants of margherita, flower of purity and 100% made in Italy product, thus participating in the fundraising for studies on cancer diseases. This year more than 70 gardening centers will be associated with Aicg (the complete list is on the website www.aicg.it) where you can buy solidarity daisy plants at a price of 4.50 euros: for each margherita sold, 1.50 euros will be donated to Airc to support the third and final year of the scholarship established thanks to the commitment of AICG.
Last year 28 thousand copies were sold, thanks to which 30,000 euros were collected. Funds that have allowed us to finance the second year of a three-year scholarship awarded to Dr. Olga Tanaskovic (European Institute of Oncology), engaged in a research project on the biological mechanisms underlying leukemia.
The "Margherita per Airc" is an entirely Italian excellence - it comes from the Ligurian Riviera, in particular from the plain of Albenga, where every year about 10 million pots are produced and guaranteed by Fdai - Italian Agricultural Supply Chain and will be marked by a label signed Fdai and Aicg. Therefore, the great attention of Aicg for Italian production and Made in Italy is confirmed.
The supportive Margherita will also this year have the support of another Margherita: the world champion of fencing Margherita Granbassi, who has been supporting the Italian Association for Cancer Research for years as ambassador and voluntary.
