After the record of visits last year, with more than 225 thousand visitors, Villa Carlotta has reopened to the public for visits to the historic park and the museum with a new season full of events.
"The events of the new season focus on the privileged relationship between art and nature", says Maria Angela Previtera, director of Villa Carlotta.
The new season will develop from March to December proposing three large exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, a series of special days and themes that follow the flowerings of the garden, activities and workshops for families, musical events and a trip in the collections of the villa, such as the one of silver and camellia.
With its botanical park and rooms full of masterpieces of art, Villa Carlotta embodies a double soul: botanical and artistic.
The garden, famous for the blooming of the azaleas and camellias, offers other suggestive natural scenery: the green theater, the rock garden, the forest of arboreal rhododendrons, the valley of the ferns, the bamboo garden and the romantic old garden .
Special days
The events scheduled during the season will follow the leitmotif of the most spectacular blooms in the garden, offering the public some special days: Camelie sul Lario (7 April), Rosa del Lago di Como (27 May), photo workshop " 'essenza della natura' (April 21st) and the floral-themed foliage compositions workshop (October 28th).
Not only that, Villa Carlotta will join a Night at the museum (19 May), you can discover a secret Villa Carlotta during the days Open Doors in Tremezzina (6 May) and the Towns Festival in September, together we will watch the celestial vault during the Summer solstice and we will taste flowers and wild herbs in the recipes of the maître chocolatier Stefano Franzi (22 June).
Also worthy of mention is the "return" to Villa Carlotta of the Golden Leaf of Lake Como (April 13th) - the sculpture prize awarded to the winner of the international competition "Spazi Creativi" on the occasion of Orticolario.
