Arborists: an accident questionnaire

Share:

Increasing attention is being paid to the issue of occupational safety in arboriculture sites, also following the data relating to accidents occurring to operators engaged in cutting, pruning and felling trees. Now SIA (Italian Society of Arboriculture) and the Arboriculturists Association have proposed a questionnaire dedicated to professionals on the subject of accidents on construction sites.
The aim is to analyze the risks to which operators are exposed and to promote better health and safety conditions in the workplace.
The questionnaire can be completed at this link https://bit.ly/3mguTRx. Published in early June, it has already collected 200 responses describing a total of 76 cases of injury or illness. Participants are asked to indicate any cases of illness or accidents, explaining their dynamics, rescue procedures, causes and consequences on health and work management.
“The questionnaire is anonymous, the data will be used for research purposes and published only in aggregate form. The compilation time is 3/5 minutes. Furthermore, the participants will be informed of the results of the research and subsequent activities ”, explain the promoters.
The “Safe on Trees” campaign was recently launched on the subject of arborists' safety at work with the patronage of the Lombardy Region ATS della Brianza, in collaboration with the Minoprio Foundation and the Agricultural School of the Monza Park, Echo Italia as technical partner.
