More and more popular is the use of garden robots, and the latest innovation is called Tertill, a project designed by Joe Jones, former inventor of Roomba, the vacuum cleaner robot. Tertill is a system that keeps the garden clean daily from weeds.
It is powered by solar energy, it is charged on its own and is weather-proof. In short, as is stated in the presentation of the project (on the Kickstarter platform), a machine that "lives in the garden and takes care of the dangers".
How does? Identifying them and distinguishing them from plants by height: Tertill actually removes them before they grow. The system includes small "fences" to protect the young plants they want to preserve.
