"The best exhibitors for the first and most comprehensive exhibition and Italian quality nursery gardening market," is how the FAI (Italian Environment Fund) and Accademia Piemontese del Giardino show "Three days for the garden", the initiative scheduled April 28 to May 1 at the castle and park Masino, Caravino (near Turin). To coordinate the initiative is Paolo Peirone, architect founder and president of the academy.
From Friday, April 28 to Monday, May 1, 2017 back in the park of the Castello di Masino in Caravino (TO) the appointment with the "Three days for the garden", and nursery market shows twenty-six years synonymous with quality and excellence, organized FAI - Italian Environment Fund under the careful direction of architect Paolo Pejrone, founder and President of the Accademia Piemontese del Giardino.
The event, conceived by Marella Agnelli and Paolo Pejrone in 1992, is today one of the most important and complete international floriculture appointments and in recent years has recorded an average of 25,000 visitors.
Immersed in colors and spring scents, experts and green enthusiasts can discover and buy the collections and news of more than 160 Italian and foreign nurserymen carefully selected, present in Masino with the best of their productions, including new and rare wonders for the garden and the vegetable garden: trees and shrubs for gardens and terraces; fruit plants and seed; berry plants; aromatic plants and herbs; flowering annual, biennial and perennial flowering; decorative plants for leaf; aquatic plants; cacti and succulents; alpine plants and rock; fruits ancient and rare seeds. Among the stand will also sell baskets, decorated vases and sculptures; clothing and tools for the care of the green, green houses, fabrics, lamps and outdoor furniture ... Finally you can buy fruits, vegetables and the scents of spring and other biological products.
The event will be organized interesting conferences and book presentations on the theme of gardens and landscape maintenance - from curiosity about the practice of horticulture to the pruning methods, the Chinese rose to wandering plants and their ploys to "travel" and expand - as well as workshops for children with hands in the earth, bound by the expert teaching horticultural Nadia Nicoletti. The public will also be able to participate in botanical walks, guided visits to the stands of exhibitors in which will be illustrated, for example, the use of herbs in the gardens, the secrets of species suitable for growing in pots and the characteristics of aquatic plants, which they can also live in small spaces and offer spectacular blooms, and shade specimens for gardens "grown up" and "aged" where there are no sunny areas, often difficult to treat. And, again, plan to tree climbing demonstrations on the castle park trees.
The visit to the event will be made even more pleasant by the flowering of "Cloud Garden" - composed of about 7,000 plants of white Spireae Van Houttey donated to the FAI by Fondazione Zegna and planted ten years ago and designed by Paolo Pejrone - and the visit the eighteenth-century labyrinth of hornbeams, located at the end of the ancient entranceway to the castle.
It is also this year the twinning of the "Three days for" Garden and large Italian gardens. For 2017 we were chosen the famous gardens of the Borromeo islands on Lake Maggiore. The Isola Bella is a paradise garden where alternate statues and architectural decorations and precious botanical geometries, while the Isola Madre is a unique botanical garden for rare plant species and originating from all over the world which preserves. At the event to Masino Castle, Saturday 29, Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1 visitors who present themselves at the entrance to the Island Bella and Isola Madre showing the ticket of "Three Days" will be entitled to a ticket reduced: therefore will pay € 8.50 instead of € 16 for the visit Isola Bella; € 6.50 instead of € 13 for the visit Isola Madre; € 10 instead of € 21 for the visit both islands on the same day. Similarly all those who over the three days will show the entrance to the good of the FAI ticket of the Borromean Islands can be accessed with a special rate of € 5 instead of € 10.
